High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR) as one of generation Ⅳ reactors has a bright future in electricity and hydrogen production.It is important to develop the reproeessing technology for the spent fuel in order to ensure HTGR sustainable development.The HTGR spent fuel has a special structure with ceramic UO2 kernel.In order to develop new technologies for the head-end of HTGR spent fuel reprocessing, the microwave technique was applied to dissolve the UO2 kernel from the TRISO fuel in the present work.
