Localization of Phonons and Photons in Stubbed Silicon Nanowire Waveguides

  Phononic and photonic band structures were investigated in stubbed silicon nanowire waveguides by plane wave extended method and compared with finite element method.The insertion of cavity modes inside the band gap region provides simultaneous localization of phonon and photon.Injection of cavity mode as well as the practical parameter to work at telecom range is discussed.Simulation results hold promises to enhance acoustooptical interactions and design new opto-mechanical devices.
