MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short (19-25 nucleotides) non-coding RNAs,that act by targeting partially complementary sequences within mRNAs,leading to functional repression of target mRNAs.Regulation of gene expression by miRNAs is crucial in cellular development and differentiation, and recent studies indicate important roles of miRNAs in mammalian reproduction.
