Black shales contain economically significant concentrations of metals, such as Mo, Ni, et al.During the process of treatment of Mo, nickel is enriched into the metalliferous black shales residues.The leaching of nickel from the residue had been conducted in sulfuric acid solution with oxidant, and a kind of nickel solution was obtained.Aiming at treatment of such solution, purification process of the leaching liquor was studied in this work.The impurities, Fe(Ⅲ), was removed by the methods of sodium jarosite and hydrolysis, Cu(Ⅱ) was removed by the methods of sulphide, Ca(Ⅱ) and Mg(Ⅱ) were removed by fluoride, Zn(Ⅱ) was removed by solvent extraction.And the effects of various parameters on the separation of impurities were investigated in detail.It was found that under the optimized operating conditions, the concentrations of Fe(Ⅲ),Cu(Ⅱ), Ca(Ⅱ), Mg(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) can be reduced to 3.6 mg/L, 1.8 mg/L, 0.1 mg/L, 0.2 mg/L and 0.5 mg/L, respectively.The total recovery of nickel was about 97%.
