Background:Cardiovascular events occur with earlier onset in patients with SLE compared with healthy individuals.The evaluation of Carotid Intimal-Media Thickness(cIMT)has recently became one of the surrogate markers for atherosclerosis.This study determined the correlation between antidsDNA and cIMT.Methods:This is a cross sectional study.Eighty four(84)SLE patients were recruted and performed Doppler ultrasound examination and measurement of cIMT.Results:Eighty four subjects(82 female,2 male)were included.There were 43(51,1%)patients with subclinical atherosclerostic,6(7,1%)patients with increase cIMT and Plaque,36(42,9%)patients with increased cIMT only and 1(1,2%)patient with plaque in near wall left bulbus without increased cIMT.The patients with atherosclerotic have median age 31 years old and median antidsDNA level was 65(1,1 – 750 IU).The median cIMT value for right and left communis artery,right and left carotid bulbus,right and left Internal Carotid artery is 0,0513 cm; 0,0518 cm; 0,0527 cm; 0,0503 cm; 0,0441 cm; 0,0464 cm.The plaque were found in right and left Carotid bulbus.Based on spearmans correlation test there are negative correlation between anti-dsDNA and cIMT in RCCA(r=-0,264,p= 0,024).Conclusion:There are negative correlation between anti-dsDNA and cIMT in Right Common Carotid Arteries.
