Ordered molecular assemblies have properties that are different from those of their individual constituent molecules.In particular,molecular assemblies can exhibit dynamic soft states that are responsive to changes in their environment.A stimuli-responsive molecule is one with a particular morphology-showing a particular property or signal,which can be reversibly switched by an external factor.Molecules that respond to thermal,optical,electrical,pressure and mechanical stimuli have been applied for the development of dynamically functional materials.[1,2] Here,we present a series novel 9,10-distyrylanthracene derivatives which are responsive to different environmental stimulus,such as solvent,temperature,pressure and mechanical force,leading to significant luminescence changes and interesting supramolecular assembly properties.
