As one of the world’s largest communications and electronics multinational corporations, Motorola initially entered the Chinese market through the sale of products (such as wireless intercom systems and cellular telephone systems). In March 1992, Motorola invested 120 million U.S. dollars in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone to set up Motorola (China) Electronics Co., Ltd. and kicked off its investment in China. Subsequently, Motorola’s business in China by leaps and bounds: in October 1994 and June 1995, Motorola (China) Electronics Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch and Guangzhou Branch were established; from just 6 years since 1992, investment in China reached 1.2 billion U.S. dollars
