爱国主义是精神文明建设的一面旗帜。爱国主义旗帜高扬,就能产生强大的凝聚力并化为建设有中国特色社会主义的伟大物质力量。 南京市委、市政府认识一致,措施有力,组织有方,通过多年的持续努力,利用本地丰富的历史文化资源,建设了一批各具特色的爱国主义教育基地,取得了很大的成绩。 是物质建设,同时也是精神建设。这是南京市建设爱国主义教育基地的一大特色。基地建设自始至终都有广大群众的参与,在参与中受到感染、受到教育。也正是在广大群众的自觉参与中,教育基地发挥着愈来愈大的作用。 编者希望,有机会到南京的读者,一定要去看一看中山陵、雨花台、梅园新村、南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆等爱国主义教育基地。那里有历史,有传统,有高昂的爱国主义旋律,有鼓舞人们建设美好生活的奉献精神！
Patriotism is a banner of spiritual civilization. The high banner of patriotism will create strong cohesion and become a great material force for building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal People’s Government have reached consensus on each other and are well-disciplined and well-organized. Through years of sustained efforts and using the abundant local historical and cultural resources, Nanjing has built a number of distinctive patriotic education bases and achieved great successes. It is material construction as well as spiritual construction. This is a major feature of Nanjing’s construction of a patriotic education base. The construction of the base has the participation of the broad masses from beginning to end, becoming infected and educated during the process of participation. It is also in the voluntary participation of the broad masses that education bases play an increasingly important role.
