This paper reports the results of hydraulic fracturing stress measurements in a 500 m deep borehole near Shimonoseki. Through in-situ stress measurement, it is found that the stress value increases with depth. The direction of the maximum horizontal principal stress does not change much with the depth, and the average direction is north 20 ° east and 45 ° angle with Honghe fault. The gradient of the maximum principal stress and the maximum shear stress with depth is much larger than the values measured near North China and the United States San Andres Fault. Judging from the measured maximum principal stress and maximum shearing stress, the Xiaguan area is in a state of high stress, and the danger of earthquakes is worthy of attention.
