Xia Xiahong’s “Late Qing Literati Women”, read more than a month. Not again, but twice, not counting repeated chapters, fragments. This is an honest, clear and very touching book. People often say that the truth is not always as beautiful as it is literally. This is a pain we feel the Chinese people are too good at the moaning groans, and then embarrassed the facts, as well as “spring and autumn strokes.” Therefore, whenever the ancients called the “upright straight book,” what people today call “genuine, whitewashing, less contrived, do not show off” is always respected and pro-friendly. Mr. Xia’s “world and handed down” is the case, and now this one is the same.
