英联邦节是个国际性的节日。英联邦的前身为大英帝国。这个由50个独立国家组成的组织把世界1/4不同种族、不同宗教、不同地理位置的人们联系在一起。自1977年开始,联邦节被定在3月的第二个星期一,以庆祝联邦各国的团结与合作。节日定在这一天的主要原因是它与任何联邦成员国的节假日都不冲突。另外,参加节日庆祝活动的多为年轻人,那天他们均在学校学习,有利于组织各种庆祝活动。英国的庆祝活动在伦敦的威斯敏斯特教堂举行,不同宗教信仰的人们都去参加。女王作为联邦的最高首领参加庆祝活动,同时有佛教、基督教、印度教、犹太教、穆斯林教等宗教人士参加。许多其它庆祝活 Commonwealth Festival is an international festival. The Commonwealth was formerly the British Empire. The organization of 50 independent nations links 1/4 of the world’s population of people of all races, religions and geographies. Since 1977, the Federal Festival has been set for the second Monday in March to celebrate the solidarity and cooperation among the nations of the Federation. The main reason the festival is set on this day is that it does not conflict with the holidays of any member of the Federation. In addition, most of the festivals to participate in young people, that day they all learn in school, organizing various festivals. British celebrations took place in London’s Westminster Abbey, where people of all faiths attended. The Queen joined the celebration as the highest chief of the Confederation, and attended by religious people such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism and Muslims. Many other celebrations live
