南宋大儒朱熹一生以著书讲学为乐,弟子门人遍天下,蔚为壮观。明代学者已留心搜集朱门弟子生平事迹,辑录成编,清人续有述作。1982年出版的陈荣捷先生《朱子门人》一书,则是当代考订、研究朱子门人的代表性成果之一,至今仍是宋代学术尤其是朱子学研究者案头常备之书。《朱子门人》叙述六百二十九人,考定明代以来的传统记载为夸耀朱门之盛,将一百四十二人非弟子而“滥作”朱子门人,提出了诸多与传统认识不同的见解。本稿举作者指为“滥收”的弟子刘学古、陈利用、李如圭等人为例,考察传统记载是否如作者所论故意滥收,检讨本书对门人与非门人、门人与讲友的辨析是否合理、论证是否恰当。借由对名著《朱子门人》的检讨,思考考订朱子门人需要注意的问题,或对进一步推进朱子门人的考证与研究不无裨益。
