清顺治十四年(1657年)的科场案,是清廷大兴文字狱的开始。此案蔓延几及全国,次年被斩、被绞、被流、被革的官员、士子不计其数,充军关外的都是名士。这是清廷对关内知识分子的大镇压,而江南士子受难最为惨重,慎交社盟主吴兆骞被流放黑龙江宁古塔达23年。他的冤案将在中国文学史上成为永久的纪录,他的悲愤激烈的诗也将为国人所爱好、歌吟,长垂不朽。
