Modern society is already a high-risk society just past 2011, destined to be an extraordinary year. We may wish to take a look at some of the international “big events.” On January 14, Tunisian President Ben Ali fled to foreign countries during a demonstration of public protests, thus opening the prelude to the so-called “Arab Spring” and setting off the ongoing turmoil in West Asia and North Africa. Egyptian government collapsed, President Mubarak was arrested for trial. Libya war broke out, Gaddafi was shot. The situation in Yemen and other countries is still in turmoil. The sanctions imposed by the United States and other western countries on Iran and Syria have become increasingly severe.
