棲木沟遗址位于西昌市琅环乡红星村五组,地处安宁河西岸的山间坡地之上(图一),高出安宁河河面约50米。遗址东西长约350米,南北宽约300米,面积约11万平方米。1975年长江流域考古调查队发现了该遗址,1987年文物普查时又调查了该遗址,2003年8月,凉山州博物馆对该遗址进行了进一步的复查,2004年由四川省考古研究院、凉山州博物馆和西昌市文物管理所组成的联合考古队对该遗址进行了第一次试掘。棲木沟遗址背靠“木耳山”(音译),被一条季节性冲
Located in the five groups of Hongxing Village, Langhuan Township, Xichang City, the habitat of the Qimogou is located above the hillsides in the west bank of the Anning River (Figure 1), about 50 meters above the Anning River.
