1994年12月29日至30日,广东省精神文明学会在广州召开第一次理事会暨“爱国主义教育与精神文明建设”理论研讨会。 广东省人大常委会副主任、广东省精神文明学会会长张汉青在会上畅谈了学会一年来的收获与体会,并对学会工作今后的规划提出了若干设想。他指出,广东省精神文明学会成立以来,在邓小平建设有中国特色社会王义理论和党的十四届四中全会精神的指引下,高度重视会风建设、学科理论建设和学会队伍建设,坚持理论与实际相结合的原则,注重总结和研究广东群众性精神文明建设的丰富经验,关注社会主义市场经济体制形成过程中精神文明建设的热点、难点和重点问题,同时重视爱国主义教育这一精神文明建设的基础性工程,进行了初步的研讨
