翻译的元价值研究是对翻译的具体价值的抽象和概括,是从哲学层面对翻译的价值存在进行本体论的反思与探究。翻译的价值是由主体的需要和客体的属性构成的,主体的需要是价值产生的前提,客体的属性是价值形成的基础,因而翻译的价值也就具有二重性的本质特征,即主体的能动性和客体的效用性的统一。所以,对翻译的价值评价应坚持主客体两把尺度,一方面,评价应符合主体合理的需要和目的;另一方面,评价应遵循客体自身的本质和规律,这样的价值评价才更具客观性和公正性。
