在京剧表现现代生活的艺术实践中,大家关心并探求的是:如何创造性地运用京剧艺术形式,比较准确地表达革命的思想内容。在这方面我们的经验不多,只能谈谈《六号门》在排演过程中遇到的一些问题以及一些做法,作为同志们研究的参考。生活是艺术创造的源泉。对所要表现的人物不熟悉、不理解,就失掉了创造的依据。在我们中间虽有些同志出身于劳动人民家庭,但是对搬运工人的生活和斗争却缺少直接的体验。为此,我们到“六号门”货场,与工人同志们一起劳动。工人同志们把演好《六号门》当成自己的事。他们特地把放进仓库多年的“地牛”拉出来,让我们更具体地感受解放前工人的沉重负担;还为我们讲述了斗争史、家史,揭露封建把头、国民党反动派对劳动人民的残酷的压榨与迫害。对于搬运工人的生活习惯、爱好、穿着特点……他们也不厌其烦地介绍。此外他们还利用业余时间参加我们的排练。从人物思想
