萨满作为满人的原始信仰,信奉自然,崇拜祖先,因此清明祭祀又被称为“祭天拜柳”。在黑龙江的阿城、双城等地,曾为满族先祖女真人的世居地,更有源远流长的金源萨满文化。清明是满族春祭的隆重节日,族人盛装诚敬参加。满族的清明习俗始于宋后金时期,充满萨满文化的特色与烙印。萨满是女真语,意为晓彻的巫师。
