在白云鄂博矿区,主赋矿层为(H_5~2)灰褐、黄褐色中厚层状至块状白云岩、含铁白云岩,富含稀有、稀土元素,厚81.2m。下伏(H_5~1)灰黑色磷质白云母片岩、硅质板岩、含磷黑云母板岩、泥板岩夹灰绿色绿帘绿泥板岩和少量白云岩,厚385.1。上覆(H_5~3)灰黑色钠闪斜长片岩、硅质岩、淡绿色条带状硅质岩、暗绿色富钾板岩、富钾粗玄岩,厚度大于27.1m(张鹏远,李双庆等,1993)(注:其他作者多数称赋矿层为H_8,上覆岩层为H_9)。赋矿白云岩东西长达18km,南北宽约2km,矿区白云岩中部厚500~700m,向四周渐薄,东端仅厚50m,西端厚100m,南端厚100~200m(白鸽等,1996)。铁矿体主要在中东部,有东矿和主矿两个大矿体,而在西部
