1994年10月2日至16日,第十二届亚洲运动会将在人口只有14O万的日本西部城市广岛举行。现在,各国为争取好成绩而积极练兵,笔者根据收集的资料,介绍一下此次亚运会各参赛国的情况,以飨读者。东道主日本:本届亚运会是东京亚运会以来,相隔36年之后日本再一次作为东道主的盛会。日本奥委会日前召开理事会,将参加本届亚运会日本代表团的人数确定下来。其中运动员685人,教练及其他工作人员为342人,这样日本代表团的总人数将为1026人,远远超过了上届北京亚运的674人。日本的传统优势项目柔道是亚运会要夺取的金牌大户,他们计划要击败韩国和中国选手,夺取男、女项目的16枚金牌。游泳提出夺10枚金牌、空手道5枚、网球6枚、体操1至2枚。在共337个小项中,日本计划总共夺得119枚金牌。
