背景 今日局域网的日益重要和桌面计算机应用的日益复杂都需要高速网络技术。10Mbps的以太网连接已经不能满足当今典型的桌面计算应用。一些高速局域网技术已经出现,这些技术能够提供更高的带宽并改进Client/Server计算的响应时间。在这些技术中首当其冲的是快速以太网100BaseT,这是一种可将10BaseT以太网平滑升级至100Mbps高速运行的技术。
