据摩根士丹利全球投资报告显示,经过对11种产业建立有世界级竞争能力的大企业所需年限做的统计分析表明,大众传媒所需年限仅为8年,其收益远远快于医药、银行、电力、能源等其他产业。传媒业和其他信息产业一样,属于高风睑、高智力、高回报的产业,其中蕴藏着巨大的市场机会。而在传媒业迅速发展、竞争有限的中国,建立一个成功媒体品牌的年限还可以缩短2-4年。由于我国正处于经济转型期,有效需求不足,买方市场开始形成,市场竞争日趋激烈,这给作为传媒业主要收入来源的广告和信息服务的发展带来了机遇。随着人民生活水平的提高,电视、音响、电脑等逐渐普及,对影视音像等文化信息产品的需求日益增长,传媒产业获得了广阔的发展空间。以2001年12月6日中国广播电影电视集团挂牌,2002年4月9日中国出版集团成立为标志,中国新闻出版影视业改革进入一个新的阶段,以结构调整、集团化为重点的新一轮新闻出版广播影视业进入全方位改革。
