通用电缆公司GENCA工具和模具分公司供应的电缆和电缆机头模具近年来已经报导过,甚至连竞争者也公认该公司设计的模具是在电线双层或多层挤出中的一个“新创”。(见PT RoV.1976.P.69) 图1所示的GENCA概念,其双层挤出是不同于工业上流行的标准的。它是用一付模芯和模套代替通常模芯、模套和最终模套的组合使用。另一种不同的方法是用通常的模具使第一层聚合物附到金属导线上,然后将第二层熔融料再复在到第一层上去。新颖的GENCA组合机头在二层同时复盖到导线上以前已经汇合到一起了。
Cable and cable head molds supplied by GENCA Tools and Tooling Division have been reported in recent years and even competitors are recognizing the company’s mold design as a “start-up” in wire double or multi-layer extrusion ". (See PT RoV.1976.P.69) The concept of GENCA, shown in Figure 1, differs from the industrially popular standard for double extrusion. It is to use a pair of core and die sets instead of the usual core, die sets and the final mold sets used in combination. A different method is to attach the first layer of polymer to the metal wire with the usual mold and then re-laminate the second layer of melt onto the first layer. The new GENCA combo head has been brought together before the two layers cover the wire.
