《上海艺术家》1987年一期载吴功正《中国古典戏剧结构新探》一文。文章认为,中国古典戏剧结构具体的有:一、线性的时间序列。中国古典戏剧的时域性很鲜明。时间形成了动作长度。这种流线的结构是单个的时间中的动作组合。以时间显示空间,以时间导入戏剧情节的开端、发展、高潮、结局。二、整一型的闭合结构。结构上都是有头有尾,时间跨度所形成的空间框架,有一个相对独立的格局,整一,闭合,内向,观众可以领略到一个完整的过程。三、贯串型的主控机制。中轴线作为主线,贯串始终。主线起到主控的机制功能,剧作者始终不偏离,观众始终
