The calculation of the seismic load of a house is often encountered in the design of new construction and seismic reinforcement works. It is related to the basic earthquake intensity in the area where the house is built, the weight of the building, and the structural system of the building. In a typical multi-storey brick-concrete structure, the weight and stiffness are more evenly distributed along the height, and shear deformation is the main factor. It is usually assumed that the structural weight of each floor of the house is concentrated on the elevation of each floor slab (called the mass point w_i) for analysis.
