阿玛蒂亚·森的正义思想跳出了西方固有的正义思维,超越了先验制度正义的一域之囿,改变了人们思考正义的方向,因此亦成为西方学界争论的焦点。罗尔斯在正义的逻辑进路、正义的平等追求以及正义的疆域等诸方面,与阿玛蒂亚·森有着广泛的交流与争鸣;柯亨从“中介性好”和“获得利益方法”等视阈对阿玛蒂亚·森正义思想中的能力平等提出了质疑与批评;努斯鲍姆则从能力清单和全球正义方面对阿玛蒂亚·森的正义思想进行了发展和补充。恰是这种不断的对话、争鸣与批评,才使阿玛蒂亚·森的正义思想在实践当中不断走向成熟和完善。
