炼油化工管式炉的炉型,总的说来是朝着采用双面辐射炉管,提高平均热强度的方向发展。但炉型的发展与炉衬结构有着密切的关系。过去有一种观点,认为单排管双面辐射只适用于高合金炉管,而不适于碳钢炉管。这是由于碳钢炉管的价格比合金钢炉管低,而当时的挂砖墙投资较高所形成的。近年来情况变了,出现了新型炉衬材料(如轻质耐热衬里、陶纤等),平面炉墙已经可以用“平墙”代替“挂砖”墙,而使炉衬费用仅占全炉的~12%,炉管系统投资却占全炉的50~70%。从而,碳钢炉管采用双面辐射“平墙”,提高辐射室热效率,不但结构简化,而且投资大大下降,在加热炉炉型的发展历程中,已日益显示出其优越性.
