A cock was once strutting up and down the farmyard among the hens when suddenly he espied something shinning amid the straw. “Ho！ ho！” quoth he， “that’s for me，” and soon rooted it out from beneath the straw. What did it turn out to be but a pearl that by some chance had been lost in the yard？ “You may be a treasure，” quoth master cock， “to men that prize you， but for me I would rather have a single barley-corn than a peck of pearls.”

Present for Girlfriend
At a jewelry store， a young man bought an expensive locket as a present for his girlfriend. “Shall I engrave her name on it？” the jeweler asked. The customer thought for a moment， and then said， “No-engrave it ‘To my one and only love’. That way， if we ever break up， I can use it again.”

在一家珠宝店里，一位年轻人买了一个贵重的小金盒作为送给女友的礼物。“要我把她的名字刻在上面吗？”珠宝商问道。

This crab is really special
A male crab met a female crab and asked her to marry him.
She noticed that he was walking straight instead of sideways. Wow， she thought， this crab is really special. I can’t let him get away. So they got married immediately.
The next day she noticed her new husband walking sideways like all the other crabs， and got upset. “What happened？” she asked. “You used to walk straight before we were married.”
“Oh， honey，” he replied， “I can’t drink that much every day.”
