Colorado Iron and Steel Company of the United States has completed another step of its reconstruction plan, namely the production of wide-beam steel. The plan states that: First, the existing 1016 (40h) mill is used to roll the wide I-beam into a 635 (25hour) rail beam mill. Here, the wide-side I-beam universal frame is set behind the three 635 rails. The wide-brim I-beam mill, combined with the 635 rail-beam mill, allows rolling of sections from 152.4 × 152.4 mm to 406.4 × 215.9 mm (6 × 6 up to 16 × 8 1/2) up to 40 m (130 Ft) wide-edged beams. In addition, the 635 mill, combined with a universal stand removed from the line, can continue to roll standard structural beams: I-beams, channels, angles, flat and square.
