With the gradual popularization of the Internet and mobile communication network, the Video Interactive Multimedia Service gets a huge market and brings a great industrial value, and will become the main part of future communication business growth. This paper first introduces the Video Interactive Multimedia Service at home and abroad, and then, describes the technical system in detail from four aspects which include generic techniques, basic standards, system standards and system platform. The techniques behind the Video Interactive Multimedia Service change quickly, and are improving the quality of service greatly, so at last, this paper focuses on the advances in virtual reality technology, video transcoding technology, multimedia retrieval technology and high-performance video coding technology based on HVS characteristics, and these technical innovations cause the changes in the Video Interactive Multimedia Service.
