弓浆虫在分类学上的位置迄今尚未确定,有人认为应属于植物、鞭毛虫、阿米巴或孢子虫。现由电镜的观察显示弓浆虫Toxo-Plasma gondii 小体与球虫(Coccidia)、艾美球虫(Eimeria)、等孢子(Lsospora)的结构相似。1969～1970,西欧、北欧、美国分别报道在弓浆虫生活史中发现1种类似二联等孢球虫(Isospora bigemina)“小种”的卵囊。电镜下见到的弓浆虫大小为5～8×1～2微米,表面有3层膜,每层膜有2层电子致密层,为一电子稀疏层所隔开。顶端有一复合体,包括(1)
Toxoplasma taxonomy has so far not been identified, some people think it should belong to plants, flagellates, amoeba or sporozoa. Observation by electron microscopy showed that T. gondii Toxo-Plasma gondii bodies were similar in structure to Coccidia, Eimeria and Lsospora. From 1969 to 1970, Western Europe, Northern Europe and the United States reported the discovery of an oocyst similar to Isospora bigemina “races” in the life cycle of Toxoplasma. The size of Toxoplasma gondii was 5 ~ 8 × 1 ~ 2 μm on the surface of electron microscope.
