黄粉虫[Tenebrio molitor(L.)]在动物分类学上属昆虫纲,鞘翅目,多食亚目,拟步行虫科,粉甲属,幼虫俗称面包虫。它原是一种仓库害虫。现经人工养殖用以作珍稀动物饲料,确属变害为宝,大有开发利用的价值。 养殖黄粉虫设备简单,一般的盆、缸、罐、箱、纸盒、砖池等容器都可利用。但要求内壁光滑,深度在15厘米以上。养成虫的槽壁要用薄膜或腊光纸粘贴,以免成虫外爬。若进行立体养殖,可在房内搭若干排框架,每排分4-5层,层间距以40-50厘米高为宜。每层放料槽一个,槽的大小要和框架相匹配,一般以50×30×15立方厘米为宜。
