为了满足英吉利海峡海底隧道铁路维修列车的牵引和因隧道中一旦电网停电或发生故障而担当列车救援牵引的需要,必须配备一定数量的调车机车。在经过了多种方案的充分比较和认证之后,最终选择了早先由德国MaK公司为荷兰国家铁路提供的DE6400型交流传动内燃机车的变型。文中详细地介绍了这种欧洲隧道铁路用电力传动内燃机车的设计、结构和性能特点,着重描述了为满足在隧道中运用的特定要求而在DE6400原型机车基础上所作的修改。这些修改主要涉及主柴油机功率的重新标定,采用多用性车钩、新的电气控制系统,加装火灾防护系统及防污染系统(即排气净化系统)等。
In order to meet the traction of Train Maintenance Trains on the Channel Tunnel and the need of train rescue towing in the event of a power outage or failure in the tunnel, a certain number of shunting locomotives must be provided. After a full comparison and certification of various options, the final version was chosen as a variant of the DE6400 AC drive diesel locomotive previously provided by the German company MaK to the Dutch National Railways. This paper describes in detail the design, structure and performance characteristics of the electric drive diesel locomotive used in the European tunnel railway, and highlights the changes made on the basis of the DE6400 prototype locomotive to meet the specific requirements of the tunnel. These changes mainly relate to the recalibration of the main diesel engine power, the use of multi-purpose coupler, new electrical control system, installation of fire protection system and anti-pollution system (ie exhaust gas purification system).
