Studies on the electrophysiological mechanisms that cause heart rate, heart rate, and conduction disturbances, as well as the effects and mechanisms of action against drugs such as arrhythmias, have led to the development of a seemingly rational approach to the treatment of arrhythmias. Some of the rules derived from cardiac electrophysiology have universal applicability, while others appear to require further validation. There are still many contradictions between expected and actual results, and there are many factors in the occurrence of these contradictions. It is likely that human heart disease can have an impact on the electrical activity of heart cells and that these effects have not yet been replicated in laboratory animals. It is also possible that the disease changes the response of the heart cells to the drug in some way that has not yet been found. In spite of this, some progress has been made; further experiments and ideas are likely to provide clearer insights as well as newer and better therapies.
