在建设中国特色社会主义的历史进程中,我国经济学界没有理由奉当代西方经济学为主流经济学,再甘愿做它的小学生;相反,应当在创建与建设中国特色社会主义相适应的中国经济学中堂堂正正地做令世界刮目相看的中华民族复兴的学者。政治经济学在我国衰落,主要责任是我们马克思主义经济学研究者没能紧跟时代潮流,而习惯于固步自封,著作缺乏时代感。创新是灵魂。马克思主义经济学界只要顺应浩浩荡荡的改革开放大潮,奋勇进入理论前沿阵地,努力开拓、创新,夺取理论制高点,发挥理论创新的先进性和权威性的引领作用,就必定能坚守住主流地位。
