The U.S. is a world economic power. In recent years, U.S. companies have become more internationally competitive and have opened up a gap with other developed countries. According to data from International Data Corporation, the United States holds the world market share in semiconductors, chip manufacturing equipment, computers, and software, and is the world leader in high-tech industries such as telecommunications and biotechnology. Automobile sales exceeded Japan in 1994. U.S. stock market capital has reached 75%, ranking first in the world. Since 1990, the productivity of non-agricultural industries in the United States has grown at an average annual rate of 2.2%, and the average unit labor cost has grown at an average annual rate of 4.1%, which is more than double the average growth rate of the previous 20 years. Authorities of the world economy believe that in the industrialized countries, the productivity of the United States is high, and the job creation is the best. The increased international competitiveness of U.S. companies is mainly due to relying on science and technology to improve the efficiency of intensive operations.
