On May 26, 2015, Mexican and Brazilian leaders said both countries will take measures to reduce bilateral trade restrictions in 2015 with the aim of doubling the shared economy between the two countries within 10 years. In a speech on a visit to Mexico City, the Brazilian president said that the two countries will hold a dialogue in July in an effort to increase the range of products covered by the joint-venture agreement from 800 to more than 6,000. The Mexican president also pointed out that this new and broader agreement covers new industries related to industry, agricultural products and services, e-commerce and intellectual property.
