The published poetry collections include “The Double-Boat Ship” (1982), “Singing the Iris Flower” (1986), and “The Archaeopteryx” (1992). Shu Ting’s poems have bright and beautiful images and meticulous and fluent thinking logic. They show women’s unique sensitivity in capturing complex and delicate emotional experiences. Most of her poetry uses metaphor, partial or overall symbolism, and rarely sings a confession in a way that is unique in contemporary Chinese poetry.
