Sweden is currently experimenting with a novel core drilling system that replaces conventional pipe drilling. This system takes cores in a rock formation with a set of drill devices installed in flexible hoses. While drilling, electrical sensors placed in the assembly of the drill continue to output logging data through cables embedded in flexible hoses. This new name, named “T”, is a new process for drilling systems, which reduces production costs by substantially saving the time needed to raise and lower the tool.
