The 16th National Congress of the CPC explicitly stated that we must uphold the guiding status of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory in the field of ideology and guided the building of socialist culture with the important thinking of “three represents.” What is the significance of firmly grasping the advancing direction of advanced culture and how to firmly occupy the cultural front with socialist ideology? These questions deserve our deep thinking. To firmly grasp the advancing direction of advanced culture is an inevitable requirement for building an overall well-to-do society. Strengthening grassroots cultural construction is an intrinsic requirement and fundamental task in the practice of the important thinking of the ’Three Represents,’ and is an important way to implement the strategy of ’relying on science and education’. To strengthen grassroots cultural construction, we must uphold the correct direction and ensure the healthy development of grassroots cultural construction.
