Chinese intellectuals seem to have a particularly deep relationship with politics, especially in modern times. We are all familiar with Zhu Ziqing and Wen Yiduo, and we do not seem to see any strong political overtones in their works. However, their reputation is largely due to politics. Simple intellectuals, secular reputation is often not large, such as care and Xu Shan. Recently read Xie Yong’s new book, “the scholar’s dilemma,” this feeling even more intense. A typical example is Xie Yao said Wang Yao. Wang Yao, who is from Zhu Ziqing and Wen Yiduo, but Xie Yong through the carding after noted that in the academic path of Wang Yao, there is a deeper “Chen Yin Ke influence.” This is rarely noticed in previous studies of Wang Yao.
