徐贤修先生,出生于浙江省温州市,早年就读于北京清华大学数学系,后赴美普渡大学任教。1972～1980年间徐先生应邀赴台担任台湾“国科会主委”。此时正值台湾经济转型、产业升级的关键时期。丰富的经历使他对国际国内环境有着较清醒的认识,赴台后,他为台湾开拓了一条适合自身特点的发展道路,找到了科技与经济的恰当的结合点,为台湾的经济发展做出了贡献。目前,徐老先生已定居美国。借他回国参加 ’95中国科学工业园区发展研讨会之机,我们走访了徐先生。
Mr. Xu Xianxiu, born in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, studied in the Department of Mathematics of Tsinghua University in Beijing and then taught at Purdue University. From 1972 to 1980, Mr. Xu was invited to Taiwan to serve as the “chairman of NSC.” At this juncture, Taiwan is in a critical period of economic restructuring and industrial upgrading. His rich experience has given him a sober understanding of the international and domestic environment. After coming to Taiwan, he opened up a path of development suited to Taiwan’s own characteristics and found the right combination of technology and economy to make economic development for Taiwan.
