The four towns of Nabati, Haluza, Mamshit, Avdat and Shivta, as well as the forts and agricultural landscapes of the Negev desert, On the road to the Mediterranean incense on both sides. Together, they reflect the tremendous prosperity of the trade in frankincense and myrrh from southern Arabia to the Mediterranean between the 3rd century BC and the 2nd century AD. Ruins such as complex irrigation systems, urban architecture, castles and caravansary hotels witness the development of a difficult desert into a trade and agricultural settlement.
