[Objective] The research aimed to study the relationship between noise and workers’ hypertension during papermaking. [Method] A large-scale papermaking enterprise was selected to monitor the noise level at its workplace. At the same time, the noise exposure level was selected as the observation group and other unit administrators as the control group for occupational health examination, including blood pressure measurement. The prevalence of hypertension in different sub-groups were statistically analyzed. [Results] The prevalence of hypertension in observation group (9.1%) was higher than that in control group (4.9%), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01). By the trend chi-square test, there was a clear dose-response relationship (P <0.05) between the noise exposure (8h equivalent continuous A sound level) and the prevalence of hypertension. [Conclusion] The paper mill noise pollution is widespread, and the long-term noise work has certain influence on the worker’s blood pressure.
