为响应江总书记“大兴勤奋学习之风”、建设学习型社会的号召,引导青少年树立终生学习的观念,推动青少年面向新世纪,形成以新知识、新科技、新技能为主要内容的学习热潮,1998年12月,共青团中央联合中宣部、教育部、科技部、文化部、广电总局、新闻出版署、中国科协、总政组织部共同发起了“中国青少年新世纪读书计划”。这项活动以共青团组织为主导,旨在通过社会化和市场化方式运作,组织青少年开展读书活动并为他们读书成才提供服务,不断提高青少年的思想道德素质和科学文化素质。
In response to General Secretary Jiang’s “Big Happiness for Learning” and the call to build a learning society, the youth are guided to establish the concept of lifelong learning and promote the young people to face the new century, forming an upsurge of learning with new knowledge, new technology, and new skills as their main content. In December 1998, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Culture, the SARFT, the Press and Publication Administration, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the General Political Department jointly initiated the “China Youth New Century Reading Program.” This activity is led by the Communist Youth League organization. It aims to operate through socialization and marketization, organize youth to carry out reading activities and provide services for their study and development, and continuously improve young people’s ideological and moral qualities and scientific and cultural qualities.
