背景介绍:母亲节(Mother’s Day),作为一个感谢母亲的节日,最早出现在古希腊,时间是每年的一月八日,而在中国、美国、加拿大和一些其他国家,则是每年5月的第二个星期天,其他一些国家的日期也并不一样。2010年五月9日是母亲节,而对于我们每一个人来说,是表达我们尊重父母爱戴父母的最佳时机,因此教会学生如何在母亲节用英文发祝福短信或贺卡,当然在发给母亲时,可以在英文后面标注汉语意思,相信等母亲看到短信或贺卡,会非常高兴的。
教学过程:2010年的5月6日是星期四,我问学生这周日是什么日子?学生回答说是母亲节。我再问学生,你们给妈妈准备礼物了么?我们今天的主要任务就是学习发英文短信或写英文贺卡。我的本意是想给学生几个示范句子,然后再由学生自己写。我把班级同学分成七组,让他们在小组内相互讨论,然后最终写在笔记本上,写出10条祝福语,第二天上课分组展示。我给出的例句有:
I am so happy that you are my mother.You have my respect and gratefulness.(我因有你这样的妈妈而幸福,我尊敬您、感激您。)
You are not only a good mother but my close friend. Thank you for helping me make something of my life. (您不仅是一位好妈妈,也是我亲密的朋友,谢谢您帮助我奋发有为。)
第二天上课时,我分别让各个学习小组展示他们各自的祝福语,每句话都是特别温馨,让人感动。英文祝福语小结如下:
This is Mother’s Day and a time to be grateful to all mothers.I am more thankful than I can express. (今天是母亲节,也是感谢所有母亲的日子。对您的谢意,我无法用语言来表达。)
Send you my everlasting feeling of gratefulness and thankfulness on this special day.(在这个特别的日子谨向您致以我永恒的感激之情。)
I am truly grateful to you for what you have done for me.(我深深地感激您为我所做的一切。)
No one deserves a bigger thank you than you. One day is hardly enough to show our gratitude.(没有人比您更值得如此深厚的谢意。仅这一天远不足以表达我们对您的感激之情。)
To the most patient and understanding person I know.Thanks for being there.Happy Mother’s Day. (给我所体会到的最耐心、最明理的人。谢谢您一直在那里支持我。母亲节快乐。)
等展示完学生的祝福语之后,我又利用课件的形式向学生展示了以下文章— Mother’s Love,并让学生朗读。
Mother’s Love
When you were 1 year old,she fed you and bathed you.
You thanked her by crying all night long.
When you were 2 years old,she taught you to walk.
You thanked her by running away when she called.
When you were 3 years old,she made all your meals with love.
You thank her by tossing your plate on the floor.
When you were 4 years old,she gave you some crayons.
You thanked her by coloring the dining room table.
When you were 6 years old,she walked you to school.
When you were 7 years old,she bought you a baseball.
You thanked her by throwing it through the next-door-neighbor’s window.
When you were 8 years old,she handed you an ice cream.
You thanked her by dripping it all over your lap.
When you were 9 years old,she paid for piano lessons.
You thanked her by never even bothering to practice.
When you were 11 years old,she took you and your friends to the movies.
You thanked her by asking to sit in a different row.
When you were 12 years old,she warned you not to watch certain TV shows.
You thanked her by waiting until she left the house.
When you were 13,she suggested a haircut.
You thanked her by telling her she had no taste.
When you were 15,she came home from work, looking for a hug.
You thanked her by having your bedroom door locked.
When you were 17,she was expecting an important call.
You thanked her by being on the phone all night.
When you were 19,she paid for your college tuition, drove you to campus carried your bags.
You thanked her by saying good-by outside the dorm so you wouldn’t be embarrassed in front of your friends.

课后反思:
1.在教学过程中,采用与新课标要求相一致的任务型教学法,通过让学生分组讨论,共同表达对母亲的感激之情,充分调动了学生的积极性。而且大多数学生的思维活动、表现欲望和合作精神在学习过程中表现很好。
2.在情感价值观方面,这里两节课教得不仅是知识本身,更重要的是通过发英文短信、贺卡,和共同欣赏Mother’s Love 这篇文章,增强学生和家长的沟通和理解。同时学生还可以上网,下载一些相关的祝福语,从而又扩大了他们的词汇量。
