今年是中国植物学会成立五十周年,许多会员自然会联想到学会的创始人之一,连任多年的理事长,钱崇澍老先生。在1963年中国植物学会三十周年庆祝会上,曾经共同祝贺了钱老的八十寿辰。今年学会五十周年正好是他的百年诞辰。他已离开我们十八年了,但他的慈祥面孔和谦虚谨慎的学者作风,仍然萦绕在我们同志的心目中。我们怀着崇敬的心情,缅怀我国近代植物学奠基人的丰功伟绩。钱老学识渊博,在植物分类学、植物生态学和地植物学及植物生理学等方面,都作了许多工作,对近代植物学在我国的发展,起了积极推动作用。例如,钱老1916年在国外发
This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Society of Botany, and many members will naturally associate themselves with one of the founders of the Society. For many years, the chairman of the board, Mr. Qian Chong-shu. In 1963 China Botanical Society thirty anniversary celebration, once congratulated Qian Lao’s 80th birthday. This year’s 50th anniversary coincided with his 100th birthday. He has left us for eighteen years, but his kind face and modest and sober scholarship still linger in the hearts of our comrades.
