This is a message from ContactMonkey, a company that tracks emailed emails. From an analysis of 30 million emails, the company found that the best way to get the outgoing (sales) email opened is to make the email appear to be inside the company. If the subject of an email begins with “Re: ” or “Fwd: ”, people are more likely to open it. In other words, people are much more likely to open their “Subject: Re: Update ” mail than the “Subject: Meeting Status Update”. Although this is a very useful trick, you have to make good use of it. If a prospective customer opens an e-mail that was thought to be internal to the company, she later finds herself or she may be overwhelmed by the mere sales of spam.
