一位普通的母亲以她特殊的“苦育”方式造就了三个品学兼优、出类拔萃的儿女:她的儿子陈大志是留学日本的医学博士后;长女陈嘉薇在美国获医学硕士学位;小女儿陈茉在美国约翰·霍普金斯大学获硕士学位。他们学业的成功令人惊羡,可或许没想到,他们成功的秘诀却是他们身为医生的母亲理智的近乎冷酷的教育。令人钦佩的是,无论是儿女在国内饱受生活困苦之时,还是在出人头地之后,他们的母亲总是他们的良师益友,精神上的可靠支柱。
An ordinary mother created three excellent and outstanding children with her special “bitterness” education: her son Chen Dazhi was a postdoctoral fellow in Japan; eldest daughter Chen Jiawei received a master’s degree in medicine from the United States; a small Daughter Chen Mo received a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in the United States. The success of their studies has been astonishing. Perhaps the secret to their success is perhaps their almost intellectually near-sobering education as their mother’s mother. It is admirable that their mothers are always their mentors and spiritual pillars, no matter when their children are suffering hardship in their own country or after they succeed themselves.
